Month 4 review

May 1st – May 31st

It was hard to choose the highlights of this month, there have been so many, and some had to be left out of this list!

1. Faroe Islands Scenery

We may have seen THE most amazing scenery of our lives here and it just doesn’t translate into a photo.

This valley was breathtaking.

2. Our day on Inis Mór

The weather was perfect, the scenery was scenic and the bike riding was fun. We couldn’t have ordered a better day in the Aran Islands.

Stunning landscape of Inis Mór

3. Attending the Atholl Gathering

This was such fun. We enjoyed touring the Blair Atholl Castle and watching the highland parade one day 1 and on day 2, to watch the games and see (& cheer on) some caber tossing

4. Highland Coos

These coos are just so funny looking and cute! We may have fallen in love with them. Having the opportunity to see them up close and groom them, then feed a baby coo was fun and special.

Combing a coo.

5. Kerry Cliffs

These cliffs, although not covering the distance of the Cliffs of Moher, were, in our opinion, superior. The three viewing points each had a different rock formation / colour mix.

6. Seaweed bath in a barrel

Having a seaweed bath in a barrel.of hot water, on the shore of the Wild Altantic Way was memorable and unique.

Just a bit cosy. Lucky we’re good at Tetris!

7. Mizen Head

Again, great cliffs and the southern most point of Ireland.

Amazing rock formations.

8. Crab claws

A bowl of crab claws in Portmagee was delicious! (Though dinner at Roks in Torshavn was amazing too!)

Crab claws. Yu-um!

9. The Burren

The rock formations are unique and spectacular.

10. Black Pudding & Guinness

We bought some black pudding from a butcher and cooked it up and it was delicious. Better than any we’ve ever tried anywhere else.

Our vitamin B and iron levels must be through the roof after an (almost) daily Guinness. After having the tasting tutorial at the Guinness Storehouse and Meaghan’s “ring tap” test to know if it’s ready to drink, we’re converted!
