Our gap year officially starts in 24 days.
Between us we have 20 days left at work before the day we’ve been talking about for years arrives. Our nights are not yet full of dreams of adventures, but packing decisions, and logistics. So much to do before we entrust the care of our house to a 25 year old and his mate!
Our goals for the year:
- Don’t organise the shit out of the year
- Go with the flow (as much as a Type A planner can)
- See as many countries in Europe as possible
- Stop and smell the roses ( or tulips, sunflowers, lavender etc)
- Try the local food and drink specialties in each area we visit
What we currently have booked:
- February:
- A tour of Morocco with Intrepid Travel
- July:
- Ferries between UK, Guernsey, Jersey and St.Malo, France
- Accommodation in Guernsey, Jersey and near St.Malo
- Accommodation in Paris, Giverny and Arras (we want to see the end of the Tour de France so needed to book that accommodation early due to it being a peak week of peak season.
- A World War 1 Battlefields tour
- November
- A ferry trip along the coast of Norway and flight back to Oslo
- December
- Flights home
- A week-long cruise/stopover in the Middle East to help us adjust to the fact our gap year will be almost over.
We have a vague idea about how we will manage the rest of the year to see as much as we can and meet our Schengen Visa requirements (90 in 180 days).
